Those making St. Stephen’s their church home bring a rich variety of religious experience, or none previously.

Some parishoners are lifelong or recent Episcopalians. Many are former members of other denominations: Roman Catholic, Congregational, Methodist, Society of Friends, and more.

Our Parish Family

Our parish family represents an extensive area of Central New Hampshire. Over the door of the church hangs the banner created for our diocese’s bicentennial in 2002–the handprints represent the specific towns represented at that time.

At present our parishioners come to us from Pittsfield, Barnstead, Northwood, Epsom, Canterbury, Strafford, Chichester, Loudon, Gilmanton, Deerfield, Pembroke, Dover, Laconia, and Concord.

We also have seasonal parishioners, who worship among us in the warmer months.

We invite all visitors to fill out a pew card and sign our guest book at the rear of the church. New member packets with information about the parish, its ministries and activities, are available in the bookrack hanging on the back wall.

Peace

Our friendliness towards each other and all who enter our doors is evident every Sunday, during the exchange of the Peace. Our strong commitment to our individual communities is manifest in our outreach to local food pantries and clothes closets, nursing homes and hospitals, nonprofits and service organizations. Our awareness of needs existing beyond our geographic area is evident from our annual support of Episcopal Relief and Development, United Thank Offering, and other entities.

Our sense of fun can be experienced during coffee hour or parish family gatherings after the Sunday service, and at our parish dinners and annual picnic.

Use of space

If your organization would like to use our Undercroft (with kitchen and restrooms) for a meeting location, please email our Junior Warden at coffin43@msn.com.
